Radon card scanner · last updated 6 November 2026
Radon scans Pokémon cards with your camera and shows market prices. You can use all of it without an account. An account is optional and only keeps your list synced and backed up. Radon has no ads, doesn't sell your data and doesn't track you across apps or websites.
Who runs Radon
Radon is made by Raymond Chan, the Netherlands, who is responsible for your data under the GDPR. Questions or requests: support@radonscan.eu.
What stays on your phone
- Camera: the camera picture is processed on your phone to recognise the card. Camera pictures are never uploaded or stored, not even with an account. Photos you pick to scan from your library are handled the same way.
- Your list and settings: without an account, your list, prices, settings and profile (name, badge or a photo you pick) stay on your phone. Deleting the app (or clearing the site data) removes them.
- Exports: a CSV export is only shared where you choose to send it.
Account and sync (optional)
You can sign in with Apple, with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. We then store:
- your email address and the name your Apple or Google account shares (with Apple you can hide your email);
- an account ID and when you created the account;
- your list: which cards and sealed products, with language, condition, variant, quantity, seller countries and any offer percentage or price you set.
We use this only to sign you in and keep your list the same on all your devices. We never store card photos, and prices are fetched again on each device. A list you made as a guest moves into your account when you sign in. Your profile photo stays on your phone and isn't synced.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account and everything stored in it right away. The list on your phone stays until you delete the app. Can't open the app? Email support@radonscan.eu from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Card data and prices
Card details, card pictures and market prices come from third-party card data and price services. To get a price, the app sends the card or product that was recognised (for example a card ID or a search name) to our own server, which looks it up for you. These services only receive that card ID or search, never your account, your list or anything about you.
Prices are kept in a shared cache on our server for a short time, so the same card isn't looked up again for every user. The cache holds card prices only, no personal data.
Card pictures are loaded straight from the image servers of these services. Like any website you load a picture from, they see your IP address and device type for that request. Prices are estimates, not offers.
Fair use limits
To stop abuse, our server counts price lookups per IP address. These counters include your IP address, are not linked to an account or profile, and expire automatically within a day.
Usage statistics (optional)
If you agree (Profile → “Share usage data to help improve Radon”), the app sends events such as “first scan” or “finished setup” to our analytics service, together with a random ID for this install and, if you're signed in, your account ID. Without your consent, events are only counted anonymously, with no ID stored on your phone. There's no screen recording and no tracking across apps. You can change your choice at any time in Profile.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an error, a report goes to our crash reporting service: the error, the app version and the device type, plus your account ID if you're signed in. We don't send your IP address, camera pictures or your list. We use the reports only to find and fix bugs.
Cardmarket
“Live offers” and “Sign in to Cardmarket” open cardmarket.com in your browser. Radon never sees your Cardmarket account or password. Cardmarket's own privacy policy and cookies apply there.
Why we may use your data
- To provide the app you asked for (contract): price lookups, your account and sync.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and fair (rate limits, server logs) and fixing crashes.
- Your consent: usage statistics. You can withdraw it at any time in Profile; that doesn't affect what was sent before.
Who processes your data for us
- Supabase (London, UK): accounts and synced lists.
- Upstash (EU, Frankfurt): the fair use counters and the price cache.
- PostHog (EU cloud): usage statistics.
- Sentry (EU, Frankfurt): crash reports.
- Namecheap Private Email: sends the sign-in code to your email address, if you sign in by email.
- Vercel: hosts the web app and our server, and keeps standard request logs (including IP addresses) for a limited time.
- Netlify: hosts this website (radonscan.eu) and keeps standard request logs.
- Apple and Google: only if you sign in with them.
- Card data and price services: only the card IDs and searches described above.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We may share data if the law requires it.
Where your data is processed
Most of it stays in the EU. The UK is covered by an EU adequacy decision. Where a provider processes data elsewhere (for example in the US), it does so under the EU's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
How long we keep it
- Data on your phone: until you delete it or the app.
- Account and synced list: until you delete the account.
- Fair use counters: less than a day.
- Server request logs: a limited time, kept by our hosting provider.
- Usage statistics: up to 12 months. Crash reports: up to 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app yourself: export your list as a CSV, change your profile, turn usage statistics off, or delete your account. For anything else, email support@radonscan.eu. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
Radon isn't meant for children under 13. If you're under 16, ask a parent or guardian before you create an account or turn on usage statistics. If you think a child gave us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.
This website
radonscan.eu has no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. Fonts and pictures come from this site itself. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard request logs (including IP addresses) for a limited time to deliver and protect it. If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. For bigger changes we'll tell you in the app.
